According to an internal survey by the government, demonetisation has affected hawala transactions, with call traffic of hawala agents dropping by as much as 50%. Further, the government also claimed that the impact of demonetisation resulted in a 60% decrease in the number of terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
