According to reports, candidates from Congress and BJP in Roorkee constituency who fought the 2012 Assembly polls have switched sides for the upcoming Uttarakhand elections. Suresh Chand Jain, who was with BJP for 15 years, is now contesting for Congress, while Pradeep Batra, who deserted Congress, has been fielded by BJP. Notably, Jain had lost to Batra by a margin of 801 votes in 2012.
