Computer programmer status not enough for H-1B visas: US

The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has reportedly said that being a simple computer programmer would no longer qualify as a specialist profession, which is a must for the issue of an H-1B work visa. H-1B visa applicant must provide evidence to establish that his particular position is one of the specialty occupations named by USCIS. The move could have an impact on Indians applying for H-1B work visas for the next fiscal beginning October 1, 2017.
