The Centre on Tuesday initiated the Aadhaar Pay service that will allow people to discard their debit and credit cards and make payments through their fingerprints. Under this service, biometric devices will be attached to merchants' smartphones to allow people with Aadhaar-linked bank accounts to make payments via fingerprints. Notably, IDFC Bank has become the first bank to launch Aadhaar Pay service.
