Punjab bowler Karan Kaila missed out on a record 10-wicket haul in the final of CK Nayudu Trophy for U-23 at the Dhruv Pandove Stadium in Patiala. The left-arm spinner ended up with 9 wickets in the second innings as Punjab keeper Anmolpreet Singh dropped a catch. Karan also took a five-wicket haul in the first innings of the match, ending the tournament as the highest wicket-taker with 49 wickets in seven games to help his team lift the trophy. Notably, the 22-year-old has been called to join the Punjab senior team in Delhi for the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
