The State Bank of India branch in Zaheerabad has been fined Rs 20,000 by the district consumer forum in Hyderabad for refusing an educational loan. According to reports, Sudhakar Patil, in 2014, sought an educational loan for his nephew in SBI. The branch manager had agreed to sanction the loan, which was never approved. Later Patil filed a complaint to the forum, which has also ordered the bank to pay Rs 5,000 towards the cost of complaint.
