The income tax department has reportedly announced that the ban on cash transactions above Rs 2 lakh will not be applicable to withdrawals from the banks, co-operative banks and post office savings accounts. According to reports, the Centre had earlier banned all cash transactions over Rs 2 lakh and announced that it would impose a fine of an equal amount.
