The Union Home Ministry on Tuesday reportedly asked the prison authorities across the country to make inmates “Aadhaar seeded.” Other than that, It has also asked jail officials to use Aadhaar for identifying the visitors coming to speak with the prisoners. The move is reportedly made to streamline the facilities available for the prisoners. According to NCRB, India currently houses more than 4.19 lakh prisoners.
