Rs 6.2 crore fake currency seized after demonetisation: Rijiju

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju has reportedly revealed that fake notes worth over Rs 6.2 crore were seized since demonetisation. According to reports, maximum fake versions of the new Rs 2,000 and Rs 500 notes worth Rs 4.5 crore have been seized from Gujarat. Modi had earlier said that through demonetisation India could get rid of counterfeit currency and fake notes.
