Addressing the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley reportedly said that the Income Tax department had carried more than 1,100 searches after demonetisation. According to reports, the searches has unearthed undisclosed income of over Rs. 5,400 crores. Mr. Jaitley also reportedly said that the Reserve Bank is currently verifying the exact amount deposited during the demonetisation period.
