“THIS IS MY FIRST AWARD FOR MARYAN” - Dhanush

Maryan is a movie that stood on its lead actors’ performances. Dhanush plays the title role of Maryan, a man who is the strongest when he is in the seas, and on the land, he is just another ordinary man. The ‘Kadal Rasa’ won the Behindwoods Best Acting Performance Medal. He received the award from Iyakkunar Imayam Bharathiraja.

He said, “This is my first award for Maryan. Generally, whenever I am called for awards, all I can think about is what will I speak on stage. When on stage, I forget all my preparations, and all I do is just blabber.”

About Maryan, he said, “Maryan is a physically and mentally taxing movie. Not just for me, the entire team had to go through so many hardships to complete the movie. And, this award is the recognition for the hardships.”

Dhanush also had some words about AR Rahman. He said, “Even an ordinary performance will seem extraordinary with the right background score. AR Rahman sir helped cover a lot of our mistakes.”

Finally, the National Award winning actor said, “Every award is important. They are my driving force. My motivation. Thank you Behindwoods for honoring me on your debut function . That makes this award special. And, receiving the award from Bharathiraja only makes it more special.”
