“IT IS VERY SPECIAL TO RECEIVE AN AWARD FROM MY CHILDHOOD HERO” - Anirudh

After his sensational debut in 3, Anirudh proved his prowess yet again in Ethir Neechal, which was produced by Dhanush, starring Sivakarthikeyan. With the success of Ethir Neechal, Sony released the entire background score of the movie on YouTube making the move a first of its kind. His next soundtrack, Vanakkam Chennai reached the iTunes India Top Album Category within a few days of its release. He collaborated with artistes such as Mohit Chauhan, Honey Singh, Hip Hop Thamizha, Papon, Hard Kaur and lyricist Madhan Karky for the movie and its promotional tracks.

With a splendid first three movies, Anirudh was roped in to compose the background score and re-recording works for the Selvaraghavan film, Irandam Ulagam.

At the Behindwoods Gold Summit he was presented with the medal for the Best Music Direction for Vanakkam Chennai and Ethir Neechal. The medal was presented to him by none other than Isai Puyal A.R.Rahman. Anirudh was overwhelmed and had this to say:

“I may get many awards in my life and I may not get any awards, but it is very special to receive this one from my childhood hero. Generally I would speak a lot, but I am very nervous today. Thanks to Behindwoods for this wonderful award.”
