I am Giri from Coimbatore, an MBA professional
and a die hard fan of Ajith. Though I
need to travel quite a lot, I never miss
watching my THALA movie on the first day
in Coimbatore. And that’s what I
did for AEGAN, and came away hugely disappointed
with the movie.
I have decided it is time to ask my THALA
a few questions which I believe people
must have asked him already or he himself
must have thought about many times.
THALA: You are a very producer- director
friendly actor in the industry. Good -
but not at the cost of your career and
the disappointment of your fans. The reason
is because of the inconsistent performances
of your movies both, at the box office
and in the hearts and minds of your fans.
Having completed 17 years of journey in
the movie industry, don’t you think
you should have the right skills to choose
the right projects? Tell us one good reason
for choosing the AEGAN script? The script
is so pathetic and has nothing much to
offer. BILLA has set bench mark standards
in Kollywood and it has even made the
whole Indian movie industry look at us.
You are part of a trendsetting movie –so
why can’t you aim big?
Since you don’t commit to more than
one project at a time, and one movie per
year, you need to deliver quality films.
Moreover, you repeatedly talk about satisfying
your fan base which would not happen with
movies of the AEGAN kind.
Kindly consider the following
1. Do not accept movies with low quality
standards -Rather you can wait for good
ones
2. Good to be director friendly -but do
not blindly trust directors. No harm if
you do some home work and share your views.
3. Songs decide 50% of a movie’s
success, so ensure that they rock in all
your movies. Just good songs are not enough
– they have to blow everyone's mind
4. You should give more thought to your
movie-promos.
You can tune / relax your stringent principles
for the betterment and success of your
movies and ultimate satisfaction of your
fans
On the whole, be a part of the whole movie
making process. After all, you too want
to give the best to your fans
I am extremely sorry for being a little
harsh with my comments. Trust me, I cried
and was not happy to celebrate Diwali
because of AEGAN’s poor show. That
is the kind of impact you make in our
life. You are such a gifted actor with
so much talent to offer. You have the
ability and responsibility to raise the
standards of Tamil / Indian Cinema.
