| VTV,
as every one agreed has touched the hearts
of many and might get the place of best
romantic movie in the recent past. Though
many people did not like the climax, I
feel that this climax is also still practical
in current world. VTV reminds me about
another movie which got the attention
of many people and captured the hearts
of many people. That is a Kannada movie
named “Mungaru Male” (translated
as Monsoon Rains).
“Mungaru Male”, directed by
Yogiraj Bhatt and starring Golden star
Ganesh and Pooja Gandhi created records
in Kannada film world. This movie attracted
both the Kannadigas as well as non-Kannadigas.
Like VTV, the songs of MM were also a
huge hit.
The story of MM goes like this. Our protagonist
Ganesh falls in love with Pooja Gandhi
after seeing her at a shopping mall. It
is love at first sight. Later while staying
in Madikeri during monsoon, he meets Pooja
again and they turn out to be family friends.
Ganesh proposes love to Pooja. She is
already engaged and she did not accept
the love. As they interact closely, Pooja
falls into love with Ganesh. What happens
to the love forms the rest of the story.
Though the story appears to be simple,
the comic moments, romantic scenes, characterization
and good acting by supporting cast made
this movie highly acceptable. The scene
where they go to a temple and Ganesh carries
