From
times eternal, we have witnessed
tons of movies that barely had
a script; this includes movies
that ran for years together.
I think with the rise of modern
India people are getting a bit
more intelligent and choosy
than they ever were. It is difficult
for any director to give good
scripts every time. It is impossible
because people also want entertainment
in the form of masala movies.
So... what can be done? They
have two options in front of
them- try and burn the midnight
oil for days together and come
with a mind-blowing script which
provides ample room for creativity
and strong story line or cast
multi stars and let fans take
the burden. The latter is the
trend amongst the Bollywood
fraternity. I think its time
to try the magic and see if
it works here too. After all,
it was prevalent in the yester
years of Tamil cinema and later
some heroes started to create
a ubiquitous fan following for
gaining political mileage that
would help converting their
superstardom to kingdom.
That was the case for
years now, as people had no
freedom of choice in movies,
they had to see only what the
Tamil cinema gave. But it is
no longer the same story, it
is quite difficult in this age
where people are open to all
kind of cinemas from Hollywood,
Tollywood and even Bollywood.
In addition, there are also
different forms of entertainment.
So probably, they can try to
recreate the magic by multi
starrers.
Nevertheless, it is both challenging
for any scriptwriter to come
up with a script that provides
equal role for two great actors.
Unlike Bollywood or Hollywood,
