Ammavin Kaipesi was adamantly released by Thangar Bachchan on Diwali along with Thuppaki & Poda Podi though he didn't get many screens. He was quite confident that movie would get more screens in the second week with good word of mouth. Will it happen? Let's see in this review

Story: As the title suggests, it is about mother's mobile phone through which she communicates with her 9th Son Shanthnu. This is the only way she communicates with him as Shanthnu was forced to leave the house due to an incident. Does Shanthnu meet his mom again? Does he marry Iniya? Watch it out in theaters.

Veteran actress Revathi does the mother's role and she had almost lived the character. Whole movie revolves around her only and she had done full justice to the role.

Shanthnu is really a talented actor. Most of us must have thought that he wouldn't fit villager role, but surprisingly he had really done a good job. He had really acted well in sentimental scenes which most of the actors find it difficult. He had to really select proper scripts in order to have good future in Tamil Cinema.

Iniya had once again proved that she will be the best actress in Tamil Cinema. After her excellent acting in Vaagai Sooda Vaa, she didn't get much scope in Mounaguru to perform. She has great potential and will definitely reach greater heights.

Music is by Rohit Kulkarni. Thangar Bachchan who speaks about Tamil culture, Tamilians, etc couldn’t find any good Tamil musicians and has given opportunity to Rohit Kulkarni who had done a very average job. None of the songs in the movie is good

Thangar Bachchan - he is the major reason for both positive and negative feedbacks for this movie. This film is based on the novel which was written by him. Story and Screenplay of the movie was average in the first half but completely falls flat in the second half due to Thangar Bachchan's role in the movie. As a director, he had given more importance to his role and had kept unnecessary scenes for himself in the movie which really impacts the movie to huge extent.

Rating for this movie will be 2.25 / 5
