I
was bit bored for long time and also worried
that there were no good films in Tamil
based on script for the past one year.
At this moment Madharaspattinam is a big
sigh of relief for everyone. The credit
goes to director AL.Vijay and his crew
where their extraordinary effort put together
with their confidence has blasted this
cracker into different colors and remains
in everyone's mind. Movies of Arya didn’t
go well after Arindhum Ariyamalum and
I am sure that this is a nice break through
for him.
We will definitely remember Arya in future
with Madharaspattinam as his best reference.
At this point we need to speak about the
lavishing beauty Amy Jackson who becomes
a strong pillar for this movie. Most of
us would definitely watch this movie for
her.
There were some best scenes in this movie
which were heart throbbing along with
the music fragrance of G.V. Prakash who
has made a nice background score. Scene
before the song "Pookal Pookum"
where Arya and Amy Jackson speak English
and Tamil alternately was Mind Blowing.
The climax still remains in my mind and
would definitely be the same for others
who watch this movie. This is the first
visitor column review written by me and
I suggest to all those who read this review
to watch this Madharaspattinam (Golden
Era of Chennai before 1947).

I just need to thank Kalpathi S. Agoram and Red Giant
Movies for appreciating the script and efforts of
Director AL. Vijay without them the script would not
have had a smooth take off.
I have been seeing Director AL.Vijay right from Kireedom
which was a good movie for him. Then he made Poi Solla
Porom which did well and now Madharaspattinam is the
best benchmark for a Debutant turning into an Ace
Director. He is not confined in making Masala Entertainers,
but of making movies based on the script and in fact
it becomes movie of commercial value.
Besides showcasing extraordinary talent in all departments,
I think the movie will have a big social impact. How
many of us who have walked, run, slept and (Sorry
to say this but) spat in the Chennai Central Station
have thought that it is one of the biggest historical
monuments of the city? The next time Chennaites see
the Coovam they will for sure feel a tint of shame
for what they have done to the once scenic ‘Buckingham
canal’.
I have maintained photos of Chennai before 1947 in
my mail box and I have also pondered over how Chennai
would have been. My imagination was put forth by the
Teamwork of Madharaspattinam without any flaws compared
to that of Original.
If our future generations ask us about Chennai, How
it was before 1947? I will proudly say that this Madharaspattinam
will be the best Reference for our future generations.
Hats off to AL.Vijay and his Team.
With Regards,
