Folks,
I've seen Endhiran a couple of times
and it is an amazing experience. I am
a die-hard fan of Rajini & Shankar
& never miss any of their movies.
I am also a huge Star Wars fan. As I
was watching Endhiran the first time,
I slowly realized that Shankar was weaving
magic and creating history. He was creating
one of the most memorable on-screen
villains similar to Darth Vader- Chitti
2.0. The second time I saw the movie,
I kept drawing a parallel between Endhiran
and the Star War movies and it all made
sense. Anakin Skywalker (Chitti), one
of the best Jedi knights slowly transforms
into Darth Vader, an evil Sith lord
(Chitti 2.0) driven primarily for the
love of Padme (Sana). There was also
the angle of the master, Obi-Wan Kenobi
(Vasi) & the apprentice, Anakin
(Chitti) and how Anakin (Chitti) gets
lured over to the dark side by Palpatine
the Sith lord (Bora) and turns against
his master (Vasi). In Endhiran, Chitti
2.0 creates his army of Chitti Robots
(look-alikes) while in Star Wars we
had the clones that were fighting the
war. Star Wars also had its share of
robotic droids & humanoids. In Star
Wars, Darth Vader finally repents for
his actions and becomes Anakin before
his end. I'm sure Rajini & Star
Wars fans know what I'm talking about.

We should really appreciate Shankar for dreaming of
such a concept and translating it into reality on-screen.
The way he has sculpted the character of Chitti, its
creation, transformation and termination in just 3
hours is simply amazing. Star Wars required 6 movies
for the same. Star Wars and Darth Vader have been
popular over 30 years and will continue to do so.
Shankar has created another character that will stand
the test of time- Chitti: The Robot. And the man who
made it all possible, feasible and memorable- Our
one and only Supersonic Superstar- Rajnikanth. He
really rocked as Chitti. The fans of Rajni deserve
equal credit too as they made this project viable
by giving the movie an amazing opening. This will
enable world-class directors like Shankar to dream
more. Language is not a bar.
