Dear
Behindwoods Readers,
I am an avid reader of your website and
thanks to you, even though I am away from
home, I feel closer to K-Town. Endhiran
images and trailers are fantabulous and
keep churning out any updates about our
Thalaivars arrival on screen.
Looking at the trailer, I wanted to guess
what would be the story line. Like with
any Shankar movie, there has to be a message,
the message of this movie might be "Science
& Technology can also be Evil".
The good, bad and the gray parts of the
advancements in robotics and in general
technology would be brought out by the
battle between, the creator and his creation,
i.e. Vaseegaran the scientist and Chitti
the robot. A sci-fi take on the concept
of Frankenstein is my guess for the message/plot
of the movie.
First analyzing the songs:
Puthiya Manidha, Kilimanjaro, Kadhal Anukkal
would be for Vaseegaran Irumbile Oru Idhayam,
Arima Arima, Boom Boom Robot would be
for Chitti.
First Half
A brief narration about Vaseegaran’s
lab, their work, some technology briefs,
conferences etc and some information on
their upcoming ground breaking robot,
the Chitti. The creation of Chitti

and Vaseegaran’s scientific prowess being brought
out through Puthiya Manidha song. Some brief comic
bits of Santhanam, Karunas and just like Sivaji probably,
parents would be insisting on Rajini to get married
etc. Aishwarya might be the daughter of villain (hope
Shankar does not follow this cliché). Danny
Denzongpa might need a robot of immense power to carry
out some evil. It might be related to technological
warfare, futuristic national security, terrorism issues
etc. My guess is that Danny and Vaseegaran might not
be from rival camps, they might be friends and seeing
Chitti, Danny might opt to go for something evil.
In comes Ash and some Thalaivar glorifying romantic
scenes between them. Bits and pieces of Sivaji, some
Basha, Padayappa material for romance. Chitti is half
functional and some trial runs to tests its capability.
Chitti goes out of control and takes things in its
own hands to do good things (trailer where Chitti
saves a kid etc). Vaseegaran might decide it is not
advisable for Chitti to roam like some metallic piece
and decides to give a human face and appearance and
as expected it would be Rajini’s face. So this
cool, funky, trendy Chitti the robot is superhuman
yet looks human. The first half might end with Chitti
Chitti robot song. After listening to the song, one
can clearly understand that Chitti is very popular
in society and he is the darling of the masses etc.
This might be another opening song kind of thing for
the Chitti the final version of the robot, which has
the facial charisma, style of our Rajini. Chitti develops
emotions for Ash and Irumbile song might also feature
in first half. This emotional desire might be a turning
point to tweak Chitti in transitioning into something
like "Beauty and the Beast" kind of warfare.
Second Half
Some mole in Rajini's camp or Danny himself tries
to corrupt Chitti’s logic and make it dysfunctional.
Chitti goes haywire and tries to test its own might,
takes law in its own hand for some negative purposes.
Our long desire to see Rajini in grey shades would
definitely be fulfilled in the second half. Some emotional
confrontation between Vaseegaran, Chitti and Aishwarya.
Chitti relishes his larger than life image, Arima
Arima song would probably come. Aishwarya probably
decides to give Vaseegaran an ultimatum regarding
Chitti (referring to trailer, Ash says she would never
try to see him again). A brief separation followed
by some compromises and peppy, passionate Kilimanjaro
number. The last part of the movie would be man Vs
machine kind of warfare. Stunts should be mind blowing
and technological battle with hifi robots, instrumental
gadgets, sets etc would be bought out in true Hollywood
fashion. The stunts and CG work should be the highlight
in the last 40 minutes or so. Man Vs Man (Danny Vs
Vaseegaran), Machine Vs Machine (Chitti Vs Similar
Robots), should be the culminating point of the view.
Technology can be evil if not used the right way and
some Anniyan kind of societal message related to what
the developed countries are doing with technological
warfare and its drastic consequences would also feature.
Rajini probably decides to shelve Project Chitti as
he fears consequences might be drastic if misused
and tries to preach the good old ways of peace, tolerance
and humanitarian concerns alone would be better ways
to save the world , rather than going behind technology
full fledged.
Thanks and Regards
Sesha
