Movies bring much remuneration to the actors and actresses.
But it is of no use unless the money is invested in
generating more income. Many actors and actresses have
pursued other interests mainly within the industry.
Film production and distribution is the most common
activity. There are however many stars who have burnt
their fingers. Hence, the new generation of stars has
become more prudent about their investments. They seek
professional help in launching their business ventures.
The earliest example of a film actor trying out a totally
unconnected business is Rajesh, who became a realtor.
Amongst
present day stars, Sarathkumar
has an active real estate business. His counterpart
Napoleon is a real business magnate. He has a host
of business ventures ranging from software development
to shipping. Talking about his success he said that
he always trusted talented people and handed over
the reins of the business to them. This enabled them
to work with freedom and strive for improvement. While
films were his bread and butter, it could not be so
forever and therefore, it pays to have profitable
business ventures to have a secure future for his
family.
Vijay
has a built a huge marriage hall in his mother’s
name and is developing a multiplex at a prime location
in Chennai.
Surya
had a telecom distribution arm for Reliance and now
has a real
estate development venture. Not to be outdone, the women
are also
charging ahead.
Sneha
has a large plantation and a thriving real estate business.
She also runs an interior designing and home appliances
services firm.
Karunas has a popular eatery and is scouting for space
for expansion.
Besides
these businesses, actors and actresses also model for
products. While sportspersons are in front of the camera
when they are away from the playing arena, movie stars
are powering through strategy sessions for widening
their business horizons. They have proved that they
can achieve success when they link up sound advice and
good financial back up.
