Saran, who is currently
one of the top directors, was working as assistant
director to Balachander. In his first movie
Kadhal Mannan, he starts the opening frame
by thanking Balachander. His direction style
is quite different from that of his guru,
but still, he has found a strong position
in the industry. K Balachander's Kavithalaya
has
launched
a new Tamil film, 'Idhaya
Thirudan ',
with Jayam
Ravi
and Mumbai's model Kaamna in the lead roles
and this film has story, dialogue and direction
by Saran. This shows how much faith K.B has
got on Saran. Saran has now turned a producer
also. On one occasion, he said “he was
grateful to director K Balachander who encouraged
him to take up film direction.”
