Shalini’s single episode :
Shalini refused to act in Amarkalam and director Saran gave her a chance to sing and thus made her to act in the movie. The song was already written by Vairamuthu and later knowing that Shalini is going to sing the song he changed the lyrics so that it expresses the desire of Shalini for singing. The song Sondha Kuralil was the lone song sung by Shalini in Tamil film industry.
