The film is a remake of a recent Malayalam hit ‘4 the students’. The movie is about 4 revolutionary students taking care of the society using the ‘fear’ factor. Though the theme is not new to the Tamil audience, the screenplay has been told in a totally different way. Bharath, Arun, Arjun and Padmakumar play the role of the 4 students and they have proved themselves in the film. The intensity of the film was kept throughout by director Jayaraj who has given more than 20 movies in Malayalam. He has handled the movie properly to suit the tamil audience.

The four students threaten the corrupted officials by punishing them. It starts with the chopping of a government doctor’s hand when he insisted for bribe. Next, a sales tax officer becomes the victim followed by a local thug. The unidentified students maintain a website ‘4thestudents.com’ where the public can post their complaints and grievances. Anyone who commit injustice to the public will be punished by the 4 students. All goes well with their approach until the local minister plans to falsify their reputation by committing crimes in the name of ‘4 the people’.  The minister kills mentally retarded people and leaves a note that looked like one from ‘4 the people’.

While the police is eyeing for clues to find them, they lose their trust with the people. Disturbed by the minister’s act, the students plan to kill the minister and his son who have wicked plans. Sunil impresses as a police officer looking out for the 4 students. Pranathi, a co student and sister of Sunil befriends the four students. Gopika is the love interest of Bharath.

The movie has a pretty exciting climax which brings the audience to their seat edge. The movie does have excellent song scores by Jassie Gift who has been titled as the ‘Malayala A.R.Rahman’ after his music in his first film. ‘Lajjavathiyae’ and ‘Annakili’ are a treat to hear. RD Rajashekar has done an awesome job as a camera man.

Though the movie is about revolutionaries, it does not take it into a serious tone. The movie has the right mix of suspense, comedy and songs to make it a success.

Verdict: Surprisingly entertaining!
