The most awaited movie that had eaten up the said budget of rupees five corers to eight and half corers within a period of one year is the dream movie of the public. Director Murugados who had given a boost to Vijayakanth in his Ramanna , has thrown out more to the youth through Ghajini as it is an action-drama with lot of Romantic anecdote, glamour and expectation. Despite the fact that the film overshot the budget, Ghajini appears to be a gainful endeavor for its producer.

The story is about Sanjay Ramaswamy(Surya ) an industrialist who is under attack by many He falls in love with kalpana(Asin) and he feels she is everything for him but one day they are attacked and in the combat he gets injured on his head and loses his memory as well his lover is killed Sanjay is admitted in the hospital and is taken care and guided by the doctor chitra (nayanthara) to catch the villain. He could remember for a few minutes but the story and thrilling climax is his hunt for the killer of his lover

Harris Jayaraj’s music has occupied an important role in popularizing the film. The harmonious song Suttrum Vizhi sung by Sri Ram Parthasarathy and Bombay Jayasree is on everybody’s mind

The film also brings together two luster girls Asin and Nayanthara. Asin is looking pretty on the screen and the dance sequences from Asin in the song Rahatullah are capturizing to the eyes. Nayanthara is always on the chase, but she has also proved her acting skills.

Surya had undergone gym practice and color tanning for the movie to put a scaring look for his character. The advance booking for this movie is rapid and is in par with chandramukhi and anniyan.This clearly shows that Surya has already and will rock the Chennai town.
