Anniyan News

Shankar’s Anniyan

Now that Chandramukhi and Mumbai Express have hit the screen, the audience is eagerly awaiting the release of Shankar’s Anniyan. Shankar is racing against time with the post-production work and with the trailers. He will take a well-earned break for two months after the release. His next project might probably be his dream venture called Robo. It is rumored that Kamal could play the lead or it could be Vikram. Let us wait and watch.

Anniyan’s Sparkle

Director Shankar has a penchant for working on a wide canvas and bringing larger-than-life images on the screen. His work in Indian, Jeans and Boys are proof of his continuing love affair with using technology for creating superb effects. In Boys, Shankar had used 60 cameras in matrix style while for Anniyan he has used 120 cameras in Anniyan. He has also used floor white glare technique and geo light lighting effects in the film. No doubt Anniyan will sparkle and scale new peaks in richness of picturization.

JASSI’S GIFT

Jassi Gift is popular for his number,”Lajjavathiye- - “ in Four students. The song is an ethnic version of rap music. He will be singing playback in another song,” Andankakka kondakkari” in Shankar’s Anniyan. The music has been scored by Harris Jayaraj. Shankar brings offbeat numbers like Chikku bukku railey, Muqabla, Shaka laka baby and all have topped the charts. Hope this song catches the fancy of the moviegoers as well.

Tollywood waiting for Shankar

Tollywood superstars Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna and Balakrishna are eagerly awaiting the release of Shankar’s Anniyan and lining up to work with him in a Telugu film thereafter. Watch this space to find out the lucky winner.

SADHA’S SCUD

Sadha was the bubbly girl in Jeyam, which was a superhit. She played comely roles in her other films. Although she was not catapulted to the top of the charts, she won the audience’s appreciation as a neat actress. But as is the wont among actresses who play conservative roles in Tamil only to be glamorous in other languages, she has played the glam doll role in a Kannada film titled Mona Lisa. The hero of the film is Sudip. The film has been dubbed in Tamil and postproduction work is nearing completion. It was originally planned to be released ahead of another Sadha starrer, Anniyan. Apprehending that her ‘neat’ image could take a beating if Mona Lisa was released before Anniyan, she approached the production team and requested for a postponement. Because the producer has demurred to her wishes, it will be Anniyan first and Mona Lisa next.

WAITING FOR ANNIYAN

Everyone is waiting for the release of Anniyan.

Devadas starring Shah Rukh Khan is the costliest film made in the history of Indian cinema. Our own Anniyan comes a close second. First it was announced that the film would have a release on June 10.
