Then,
we had a hero, the son of a producer.
He did a movie recently and it bombed
at the box-office miserably and the hero
feared for his market. His papa talked
to the theatre owners and managed to run
it for more than 30 days.
There
is a clear nexus between the hero’s
family and theatre owners. The hero is
bothered about his image while the theatre
owner is interested in the rent and a
little bit more. The rent in cities is
Rs.5000/- per show. If it is three shows,
then the revenue is Rs.15,000/- per day.
The heroes don't mind paying that extra
money to guard or keep up their image.
The agreement is that the hero will pay
20 day’s rent in advance. While
the movies are shown as per agreement
the real strength of the audience is never
more than 50. Sometimes bugged by the
movie, these audiences also indulge in
minor vandalism.
