He has won the national award for best director. His next project in Tamil titled Selvam has Nanda and Uma in the lead. He was not seen in Tamil for quite some time because he had been busy in Telugu and Hindi. He hopes that with Selvam he would again be celebrated as one of the leading directors in Tamil. In Kollywood, there have been several talented directors but it is worth mentioning that only Agathiyan has won a national award. Hats off to the man!
