Surya and his younger brother Karthi met Kamal to seek his guidance. Kamal took them to his home theater and arranged a special screening of his pet project, Marudhanayagam. Although the film has only short footage, the brothers are said to be in awe of the effort and genius of Kamal. They are said to be studying the film in minute detail and learning from the master.
