Bala and producer
A.M. Ratnam had agreed
to jointly produce
the Ajith starrer
Naan Kadavul.
For unknown reasons,
Ratnam backed out
and sought the advance
of one and a half
crore rupees he had
given to Ajith. An
incensed Bala, borrowed
the amount from Anbu
of Madurai. But the
film ran into problems
and Bala faced a stricture
from the Producers’
Association that Naan
kadavul should
commence only after
Godfather.
Insiders in the industry
feel that it is a
ploy by Anbu to shackle
Bala who is coughing
up a heavy interest
without a single schedule
having been completed.
The ugly face of forced
debt is raising its
visage in the industry
again despite the
pathetic GV episode.
