He was the uncrowned master of comedy a few years ago. His antics with Senthil made for rib-tickling stuff. There were several films which had jubilee runs solely banking on their comedy tracks. However, with the V wave consisting of Vadivelu and Vivek, their standing took a beating. Senthil acted as a solo comedian in a few movies and vanished. Koundamani, however, maintained a distance. After almost eight years, he appeared in a small role in Manmadhan. Following the good showing of the film, he has acted in Kadhal Thiruda. There is much at stake for him in this film.
