In non-Tamil speaking states like Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, two films are thumping successes. In the past 6 months, Chandramukhi and Anniyan have done business much higher than all other films put together. In Kerala, Anniyan romped home without dubbing or subtitles. Mathruboomi, the Malayalam magazine with incisive views, has highlighted the success of these films and asked Malayalam producers to do a rethink on their priorities.
