There are umpteen examples
in Tamil cinema about how
true life instances have
formed the crux of celluloid
plots. Think of Nayagan
which tackled underworld
dons or Seevalapperi
Pandi based on a forest
brigand a la Veerappan and
Indian which dissected corruption
in our bureaucracy. Needless
to say, they were all lapped
up by the audience. Keeping
up the trend, Seenu Ramasamy
who is an associate of Balu
Mahendra will be directing
a film in this genre titled
Koodal Nagar. Bharath
and Sandhya, who won our
hearts in Kaadhal,
will be the lead pair. Kaadhal
was set in the backdrop
of Madurai and as also this
film whose name bears a
resemblance to a popular
locality in the city.
