Vinayan is a hit director in Malayalam. He directed Vikram in Kasi which made waves in Tamil cinema. Now, his recent Malayalam film titled Arputha Theevu will be remade in Tamil. The story requires many dwarfs and hence about 300 junior artistes have been brought in. Prithviraj, who was a success in Tamil with Kana Kandein and Mallika Kapoor who is talked about for Azhagai irukkirai bayamai irukkirathu with S.J. Surya, is the lead pair. The Malayalam original featuring the hero and heroine will be retained and dubbed for Tamil while the comedy track with Manivannan will be shot afresh. Hope the film will be as successful in Tamil as it has been in Malayalam.
