Vinayan directed Vikram’s Kasi which was a super hit. He has so far done 13 films in Malayalam, all of which are hits. One of his films, Arputha Theevu, is being made in Tamil. Prithviraj, who played the villain in Kana Kandein, is the hero. Wonder who this guy is? He is the son of M.G. Chakrapani, brother of the legendary M.G. Ramachandran. Mallika Kapoor is the heroine. The story is that of an island where the men are born dwarf-like due to a divine curse while the women are as usual, extremely beautiful. Hence, out of jealousy, the men guard the island from handsome outsiders. However, our hero lands up there and fall in love with the chieftain’s sensuous daughter. How their love triumphs after a series of obstacles forms rest of the story. To bring realism to the portrayal over 300 dwarf junior artistes have been romped in.
