Several film heroines have made the transition to television playing wife, mother or sister without any hang-ups. Seetha acted as a mother of a child, Devyani plays wife and sister, Nalini plays a mother and so on. Kausalya was a popular heroine who has acted with leading heroes (remember Nerukku Ner). However, lack of film projects made her opt for the role of a wife in the television serial called Manaivi. She plays a double role in the serial. However, when approached for similar roles in movies, she gives a smiling refusal. Wonder why these ladies are happy to play a character on TV while not preferring to do the same on the silver screen?
