MSV-TKR combination spelt magical music and would remain etched in gold in the annals of Tamil cinema. No one has surpassed them for the sheer beauty and simplicity of compositions. Their genius has contributed to making music an important aspect of Tamil movies. MSV is also the guru of a generation of music composers, most notably, Ilayaraja. MSV has not done the music for films lately because of perceived change in audience taste. Now, he will be working on two films – Chellamadi nee enakku and Kai thattathana kaigal.
