Surya, Aarya, Meena for social cause - World's Heart Day Celebration

The World’s heart day celebration was honoured yesterday by a cycle rally from Chennai Marina beach. Actor Surya, Commissioner Sylendra babu and Director Vasanth participated.

Actress Meena inaugurated this day celebration at frontier life line hospital to ensure the protection of heart especially in women.

Actor Aarya flagged off the programme of Chennai Heart Education and Research Society. The CHERS conveys the message that heart problems are due to obesity and obesity has to be detected in early childhood itself.

Heart is Life's precious machine

One can celebrate this day only if your comfortable with your heart. It is a delicate organ and is life's machine. It is made up of small muscles that contracts more than a lakh times each day and pumps oxygen containing blood to all parts of the body.

One will lead a happy life only if the heart is safe and carries the work clearly. When the hearts arteries are blocked it may reduce or completely cut off blood supply to a portion of

the heart, and when the heart does not get enough oxygen carrying blood there occurs cramping pain in the heart and a severe pain extending to the shoulders and arms with sweating, which is a warning symptoms and if neglected a heart attack will follow.

These symptoms should be looked into and checked immediately by a doctor When adequate oxygen carrying blood does not reach the cells the body undergoes fatigue, nausea, and lifelessness Heart failure can be cured easily through the modern medical care and if it is treated and managed properly life’s quality will be improved, but if neglected the worst has to be faced.

1) Check your blood pressure and keep it under control
2) Reduce salt intake. As water we drink, contains sufficient salt to sustain us.
3) Avoid tobacco and alcohol.
4) Do not have tension or fear in mind.
5) Be positive in all your deals and lead a happy and contented life.
6) Reduce weight, as over weight increases health problems.
7) Only consume food with fewer calories but more of fibers, vitamins and proteins.
8) Avoid fried foods, only baked and boiled food should be consumed.
9) Exercise regularly to improve blood circulation and reduce fat content of the body.
10) Periodical check up is a must.

HDL cholesterol protects against heart diseases Human body should have more of HDL Cholesterol and less of LDL Cholesterol. On the world heart celebration day each one of us should take a resolution to protect our heart by controlling our mouth and stomach, to lower the LDL cholesterol and increase HDL cholesterol as a protective measures, and to adopt prevention as the best medicinal remedy to our lives.
