about yourself?
Vimala:
I was born and brought up in Australia. My parents
are Tamilians and I am very fluent in Tamil.
Q:
You are also a trained classical dancer.
Vimala:
My father was the inspiration. He was particular that
I should excel in sports and fine arts. He made me
swim at age five and initiated me into Bharatanatyam
at age six.

Tell us something about your performing experience.
Vimala:
I have traveled to almost every country as a classical dancer.
I have given numerous performances in Australia and abroad.
Q:
Do you have any experience in acting?
Vimala:
I have worked in plays while in college.
Q:
So, acting in Tamil has not been a tough assignment, is it?
Vimala:
Oh, it is a great learning experience to work under a legend
like KB. But my training as a dancer makes me adapt and emote
easily.
Q:
You have also won a beauty pageant.
Vimala:
I won the Miss Australia crown in the contest held for Indians
living there.
Q:
Any ambitions in Kollywood…
Vimala:
I want to be known as an actress who can play any character
with effortless ease.
