Meera Vasudevan - Interview : I don't want to hide my love from anyone...Meera's exclusive interview... |
|
Meera Vasudevan - a cute cheery girl in "Unnai Charanadainthen", is now a glamour doll in the movie "Arivumani". Meera's "hot" dance with Murali for the song "Ketta Paiyan...Ketta Paiyan...Neeyada" for this film is the talk of the town. There has also been a controversy whether Meera is a Mumbai girl or a Tamil girl, so we went on a interview with Meera herself. Q: Meera, you are from Mumbai. Right?! Meera: Well, All actress' who act glamorously are not from Mumbai. I'm a Tamilian. My own place is Chengalpattu. As my father is working in Mumbai, we have settled there from my childhood itself.
Q: How did you get your cinema chance? Meera: I was a model, while doing my college. That got me into cinema. In modeling the time is very short, but in cinema the time is long. If you are a very popular model, then cinema chances come to you automatically. In my opinion, modeling is the address for cinema. |
Q: You were not seen in any film's after "Unnai Charanadaindhen". Where were you? Meera: Yes, it is true that there was a gap. First of all my family is not from a cinema background, secondly I don't have anyone to get me cinema chances and I hate to ask for cinema chances from anybody. I act in the film's which are offered to me.
Q: Why do actresses who are doing a good role, change into glamour girls when there is a lack of cinema chances? Meera: Every field has its pros and cons. Particularly when you come to act in the cinema, you have to be sure that you don't mess up anything. You must have an idea before hand, in which character you are going to specialize. If you are ready to do glamour chances while your market is down, you will be marked as a glamour only artist. So one has to be careful while deciding your career. |
|
Q: Are you saying that it is a mistake to act in a glamour role? Meera: No, I'm not saying that acting in a glamorous role is wrong. What I'm trying to say is one must have a limit for exposure. One can act glamorously, but not vulgarly. In cinema one has to loose some thing to win some thing, so there is no point in saying that, "I will not act glamorously". All you need is to have a limit in everything.
Q: What about the actress' who jump into other language film's, when they don't have any chances in Tamil? Meera: I don't know about other actress'. But for me, I didn't jump into other language film's when I was left film less. Not only I want to win a good name from the Tamil cinema fans, but I also want to become a good director, and a producer in Tamil cinema. I am waiting for that time to come... |
|
Q: What is your role in "Arivumani"? Meera: "Arivumani" is based on a real story. My role in the film is that of a loveable heroine, who runs behind Murali for his love. The song sequence which comes as a dream has a little bit of glamour. But it favors my role in the film.
Q: So, do you have anyone in your real life as your lover? Meera: Yes, I love some one. But I don't want to expose him to you now, because we are beginning to understand each other now. Love is like any other feeling like anger or laughter, It will be inside every one. It will come out when you find someone worthy of it. |
