Laila - Exclusive interview:

Miss smiley, Laila's Exclusive interview...

There was a time when this young Mumbai girl arrived in Chennai with nobody to support her. Her only hope, to get into Tamil Cinema. Some laughed and some encouraged, now she is here a leading actress in the Tamil cine industry.

Laila was recently on Chennai for her final schedule for the film "Jayasuriya" with action king Arjun. An exclusive interview with her, which lasted thirty minutes.

Q: What is your role in the film "Jayasuriya"?

Laila: I appear in the film from frame A to frame Z with the hero Arjun. No film has ever had a heroine appearing for so long with the heroes. I must say I'm greatly honored. Mine is somewhat a strange character in the film. Unlike "Nanda" and "Pithamagan", where I had done a calm character in one and a shrewd character in the other, this film poses me as a busy Actress.

Q: What is your opinion on Love?

Laila: The word Love has different meanings. Parents Love, children's love, a teacher's love for her students, the love between a husband and a wife. Which Love are you referring to?

Q: What we mean is, whether your marriage will be an arranged marriage or a love marriage?

Laila: I could not tell whether I would end up in love or a mere friendship with a guy. However, my marriage will take place only after some years. Till then, I will have to complete my studies. Even if my marriage is going to be a love marriage, my parents won't object to it at all. I will surely send out invitations to all, in the cine industry and of course to my fans.

Q: How do you rate your role in "Pithamagan"?

Laila: It was really a nice experience with the director and actor Vikram. He was like a brother to me, and a good teacher. I have learnt many things from him and also from Bala, the director of the film. He taught me much and induced a self-confidence in me. It does not mean that I did not have a confidence before, but giving a boost in confidence to a person's mind could be done psychologically by teaching many things.
Q: Are there any plans for you to settle down in Chennai?

Laila: Yes, I do like to settle down in Chennai. But my father and mother have to give me permission for that first. Without their permission, I will not prefer to hire a house or buy a house in Chennai to settle down.
