Interview with Sridevi:

While the film "Devadhaiyai Kandein" is yet to be released, the film's director Bhoopathy Pandiyan was in the sets at Vauhini studios with Sri Devi who is the daughter of actor Vijaya Kumar. In her interview she speaks about the film's development and her contribution to the celluloid world.

Question: What is your role in "Devadhayai Kanden"?

Answer: My role is very pivotal in "Devadhayai Kanden". So far you have seen me as a soft-heroine. In this film I am acting in a bold type of character. The director tells the story from a very different angle.

Question: How was your experience working with Dhanush?

Answer: First of all, I must tell you that I am a fan of Dhanush. There was a dance sequence in which myself and Dhanush had to act where I had failed badly. Dhanush is not only an actor but a great dancer as well. I was trembling with fear whenever I was asked to dance on a new step. Dhanush on knowing the difficulties that I was facing then consoled and encouraged me. I have really worked hard in the dance sequences and it has come out well.

Question: Why there is such a big gap in your film career?

Answer: Like other actresses I can't simply accept the offers. The directors should clearly narrate the story and my role in their films. There is no use in accepting all the offers that i get. This is my policy. I expect atleast one scene in the film in where I could perform well so that it will fetch me a good name.

Question: Tell us about your plus and minus?

Answer: I am the daughter of actor Vijayakumar which I would consider as my plus point. The same would be considered as a minus point for me. The reason is, as I am the daughter of Vijayakumar & Manjula who have done various roles in more than 300 films, People expect a lot from me in my acting. I will prove that I am their daughter very soon. If I commit any mistake in my film, it will be noticed by my parents, who will shout at me and sometimes they may refer the mistakes euphemistically.

Question: In how many films, have you acted so far?

Answer: Four films.

Question: What is your ambition in life?

Answer: To become a great actress and to earn money and fame. I am prepared to work hard to achieve my goal.
