Successful Music director Imaan in this exclusive interview...


Q: Nowadays you are seen in many interviews in the TV shows, what is the reason behind this?
Imaan: I have given many hits recently. Probably that might be the cause, you are seeing me in many interviews recently.


Q: Previously, there were three great Music personalities, M.S.Viswanathan, Illayaraja and A.R.Rahman. Nowadays, it is not like that. There are a lot of music directors emerging very well. what is your comment on this?
Imaan:  In my opinion, It is good that it happens in this way. the work is spread out so that everyone are given the opportunity to show their talents. There is a healthy competitive field prevailing now.
 
Q: Is the music composed with the lyrics in mind, or is it the vice versa?
Imaan: Sometimes music is composed based on the lyrics and sometimes lyrics are written for the music. I personally like composing music for the lyrics.

Q: What type of songs are doing well these days?
Imaan: These days, the fast pace music are doing well because everyone like it.
Q: So, that means you too prefer to do that types of songs. Right?
Imaan: Not It is not like that. Let it be any type of music, but that music should be blended well along with the story of the film.

Q: While composing music, Will the director be relating the story to you?
Imaan: Some directors will tell me the story at the time of composing and some describe the situation at which that particular song appears, and my music will be based on these.
Q: Now you have become one of the best music directors in the Tamil cine field. Are you given the right to choose the lyric writer at this point?
Imaan: I don't decide who will be the lyric writer. But I will give my suggestion to the director.

Q: What are the films for which you are composing music?
Imaan: At present I'm composing music for the films, "abc", "Ade" and "Raudy".
