The
music maestro is back in Hindi
after 'Cheeni Kum' with the
same team. Balki directs this
movie about a kid who has a
rare disease which makes him
age faster. And Balki not just
got A.B. Corp to produce this
movie but also made a casting
coup which made everyone sit
up by casting Amitabh as the
son of Abhishek. With so much
going in favour of this movie,
music lovers were waiting for
the music launch with bated
breath. Let’s see if the
maestro can recreate the Cheeni
Kum magic.
Halke Se Bole...
Vocals: Chorus
A small song about kids and
the need to be ambitious. A
sweet little song to start the
process.
Mudhi Mudhi Ittefaq Se...
Vocals: Shilpa
Rao
First
among the 'Ittefaq Se' series
is Mudhi Mudhi and it starts
of with drums and trumpets and
then Shilpa Rao takes over.
The liveliness of the song and
the singer make you fall in
love with this song. The low
running time of this song can
be because it has 2 other versions
but not remixes mind you. A
clean entertaining song! |

Gali Mudhi Ittefaq Se...
Vocals: Shaan
A
slow one talking about how life has changed,
sung extremely well by Shaan. Mandalin and
slow drumming after the pallavi are used
extremely well. Again a very small number
which had its moments while playing. Nice
hear.
Udhi Udhi Ittefaq Se...
Vocals: Shilpa Rao
The last of the Ittefaq Se series is again
a lively one and except for lyrics and excessive
drum and other instrument usage, there is
no big difference which you would notice
in this version from Mudhi Mudhi.
Paa
theme (Remix)...
Vocals: Vickky
Goswami
A lively theme which sets the tone of the
movie and tells you clearly there will be
only little rona-dona in this story about
a kid who has got a rare disease. With some
interesting musical usage and chorus usage
this is a pleasant hear.
Mere Paa...
Vocals: Amitabh
Bachchan
This is a song about the diseased kid writing
a letter about his mother to his Paa. After
hearing this song there is only one person
you can think of. Even though a superlative
Ilayaraja has composed music for this and
amazing lyrics are written by Swanand Kirkire,
you would surely not recognize this singer
who is none other than the Big B himself
and this should be heard to be believed.
This one will surely grow on you.
Hichki
Hichki...
Vocals: Sunidhi Chauhan
Sunidhi Chauhan starts this amazing song
about a mother advising her son in a language
he will understand. The song has superior
lyrical value. The instrumental usage makes
it a treat to hear too. Sunidhi Chauhan
again proves that she is the queen.
Ghum
Sum ghum...
Vocals: K. Bavatharani,
Shravan and Chorus
The famous 'Sangathil Paadatha Kavidhai'
which later got bigger in Malayalam in the
form of 'Thumbivaa' gets even bigger in
Hindi. With some amazing interludes of guitar,
piano and trumpet starts this symphony about
kids trying to advice the elders to live
king size life and don’t get bogged
down for each and every second. Ilayaraja’s
touches are present all over. And when you
think that somewhere the magic of Thumbivaa
is missing, comes the last stanza of 'anupallavi'
sung by Bavadharani and Sharavan which just
grabs your heart.
Verdict:
It’s a fabulous follow up to 'Cheeni
Kum' from the maestro. With more than four
songs, this is a ‘must hear’
album which will be lapped up by all music
lovers and ardent followers of Ilayaraja
alike. An album with heart all over it,
a treat from the God of music!
