As
the name suggests the movie
is set in a Punjabi background
and the music too highlights
the same. After Singh is King
and Love Aaj Kal, Pritam Singh
is back again for Dil Bole Hadippa
and how! He’s done complete
justice to the title. Being
a Yash Raj Film production,
one obviously expects their
trademark rich colorful songs
and background. And this expectation
has been met. Songs are full
of life and provides absolute
entertainment.
Hadippa---
Vocals: Mika
Singh.
As the Hadippa beats begin,
your shoulders start shaking
and your feet tapping in the
Punjabi da style. The essence
of the title has been rightly
brought out; however the song
has the feel of a pop album.
Mika Singh’s voice adds
more life to the song - a very
peppy number that will surely
be a hit on the dance floors.

Discowale Khisko---
Vocals: KK, Sunidhi Chauhan,
Rana Mazumder
Listen to the lyrics carefully and you will
wonder what the lyricist was trying to prove.
The point was proven with the music. Brought
out in truly desi style it’s a perfect
dance number with the right use of the singers.
Sunidhi Chauhan’s voice is full of
energy aptly supported by KK and Rana Mazumder.
The beats of the dhol adds more flavor.
This song surely will find a place in the
chart busters.
Ishq Hi Hai Rab---
Vocals: Shreya Ghosal,
Sonu Niigam
A romantic number that says love is god.
Slow paced unlike the previous two it changes
the mood and mellows down the tone of the
music. The combination of Sonu Nigam and
Shreya itself highlights that the song aims
at giving a change and a soft feel in between
the Punjabi beats. One look at the song
and you can see Yash Raj written all over
it.
Bhangra
Bistar---
Vocals: Alisha Chinoy, Sunidhi
Chauhan, Hard Kaur
The choice of Alisha is quirky enough for
a Punjabi song and the feeling continues
till one finishes listening it. Good effort
though but not sure it met the standards.
After listening to the song one gets a feel
that it’s the same music over and
over again only just a little different
from the other. An all girls team –
appreciable but it doesn’t raise the
energy levels. A decent effort for an item
number, only with funny lyrics.
Gym
Shim---
Vocals: Joshilay
A workout song that reminds you of ‘one
two buckle my shoes.. Three four shut the
door’. Falls short of being qualified
to be played at the gyms for the sake of
its odd lyrics. Not sure what was the thought
behind the tracks, but catchy nevertheless.
The band Joshilay is the guest composer
- a different effort!
Discowale
Khisko — Remix---
Vocals: Master Salim
The pep from the original version continues
- the beats lot faster and the energy levels
higher. Salim’s voice suits the remix
version but wonder why they didn’t
use Sunidhi again because she was very good
in the original. On the whole the remix
version sounds good and is bound to hit
the charts.
Hadippa
- Remix---
Vocals: Mika Singh, Sunidhi Chauhan
Sunidhi has been brought in here for the
remix but apart from that not much difference
between original and remix. The tones and
beats are the same - both original and remix
will be a hit with teenagers and bound to
be played at the discs.
Verdict:
If you are from Punjab or from Northern
India you are bound to love the music. The
tracks bring out the true desi style Punjabi
flavor - likely to be a commercial hit.
Listening to the songs you will surely say
Dil Bole Hadippa… most of the tracks
are dance numbers that will surely hit the
chartbusters this year.
