Danny Boyle, the Oscar winning
director of Slumdog Millionaire,
was in India recently to discuss
his future venture and settle issues
pertaining to the child artistes
in SM – Azharuddin and Rubina.
The director, it may be recalled,
had created the Jai Ho Trust to
take care of these two child artistes,
who are from the Mumbai slums. However,
the demands from the relatives of
these two children has made Danny
flee the country, we hear.
While Azharuddin’s relatives
wanted a car, Rubina’s family
had demanded an additional USD 48,000
to fund their flat. With the demands
going up everyday, Danny had left
for UK, sources say.
