Youtube.com
is all set to rent full length movies!
The web site, which is a part of Google,
will begin with renting movies that
were screened at the Sundance Film
Festival 2009 and 2010.
The rent for each film will be $3.99
and the movies should be viewed within
two days of downloading.
According to YouTube, “Making
content available for rent will give
our partners unprecedented control
over the distribution of their work
— they can decide the price
of their videos and the rental duration.
They can decide when and where their
content is available; and they can
keep 100 percent of their rights.”
