Deepa
Mehta will begin the shooting of her
film, which is based on Salman Rushdie’s
Midnight’s Children. The book,
incidentally, won the Booker Prize.
Deepa is a critically acclaimed and
controversial director who has directed
films like Fire and Water.
As quoted by the IANS, Mehta said,
“We’ve just finished the
screenplay and we’re going to
do the casting in the next couple
of weeks. We hope to start filming
in September.”
For the time being it looks like Nandita
Das, Seema Biswas and Shabana Azmi
will be cast in the film for sure.
There are also reports that Rani Mukherjee
could be signed up. |
