Priyadarshan says that his plan to make a film on AIDS, with Aamir Khan in the lead, will be a film that will reach the audience. The director reportedly told the IANS, “And why not? Films are meant to generate a mass reaction. No point in making a film with one of the biggest stars of the country which only a handful of people want to watch.”

On Khatta Meeta, which he is presently directing, Priyan said that it is also about construction mafia. The director says that he makes films to connect to the audience and he would continue to do so.
