Diwali is not just about bright
colours, fire, light and new
dresses but its the time of
the year which provides us the
best entertainment at the theatres.
This time around three movies
one monster of a movie - 'Blue',
a sure-shot comedy extravaganza-
'All the best' and the dark
horse which was supposed to
have the power to out-do the
other two 'Main aur Mrs. Khanna'
released and a fierce royal
rumble was expected. The first
weekend is supposed to be the
measuring yardstick for any
movie's overall performance
but the shark fell for car and
the plane didnt take off.
Blue which is hailed to be the
highest budgeted movie in Indian
film industry with a total which
kisses the 100 crore mark got
a tremendous opening with more
than 1200 prints. The movie's
weekend net collection was about
19.5 cores did a business of
around 30 crores net and can
end its run at around 38 crores
net thanks to the packed schedule
of movies lined up in the coming
months. Blue is another big
misfire for Ashtavinayak.
'All the Best' with a budget
of around 27 crores including
the print and promotion will
end its first week with around
19 crores net and due to its
relatively low budget and having
such an appeal to the single
screens it is expected to end
its run with almost 38 to 40
crores net. Ajay Devgn movies
can become one among the top
five earners this year, but
getting a 2.5 bonus from the
multiplexes will be a hard cry.
