Do Knot disturb and Wake up
Sid were released recently and
both have got a favorable reception
at the box-office. Wake up Sid
got a more favorable reception
amongst the critics compared
to Do Knot Disturb which didn't
get as many thumbs up from the
critics. 'Do Knot Disturb' released
by Big Pictures came up with
more than 800 prints in India
alone whereas Wake up Sid, distributed
by UTV motion pictures, came
out with just 420 prints.
However, Wake up Sid was able
to garner collections that mirror
DKD. While Wake up Sid has grossed
Rs. 10.5 crores in the first
weekend, Do knot Disturb grossed
Rs. 11 crores. The average per
print may have gone in favor
of Wake up Sid but DKD would
surely win the battle when distribution
share is counted as DKD’s
gross, which in single screens,
are much higher. Facing a second
week competition in the form
of Acid Factory and the biggies
the week after in the form of
'Blue', 'Main aur Mrs. Khanna'
and 'All the best' both the
films will slowly decline; therefore,
we can expect a Rs. 25- 28 crore
final from Do Knot Disturb which
will make it an average earner
when compared to its heavy budget,
and almost Rs. 30-33 crores
for Wake up Sid making it an
above average grosser in their
theatrical runs. Both of the
movies will expect to earn revenues
only after the satellite rights
are sold.
Wanted is still going strong
in its 3rd week, having made
a cool Rs. 54 crores nett till
now and is heading for the elite |
